APW - Elgin, Grade 381, 17J, 16S, 14K multicolor gold box hinge original Solidarity HC with buck's head to rear surrounded by multicolor floral detail, rose gold shield to front surrounded by multicolor floral detail, gold cuvette, fancy white and pink enamel SS dial with foil decoration in two shades of gold and in silver, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-SS, nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator, s#17701062. Gross weight of assembled watch 63.8 dwt (99.3 g). A notably beautiful case with vibrant multicolor detail.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, virtually mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, nearly pristine plate surfaces with very few minuscule micro-fine scratches, regulator with some gilt loss, balance jewel setting with a mismatched screw; nearly flawless dial with very small edge flake under bezel near 2; nearly mint hands; case shows hardly any wear, slight shallow ding toward upper-right perimeter of front, band with some reduction of engraving detail between 10:30 and 12 and an associated slight small ridge at its midpoint suggestive of a well executed past dent repair in this area, otherwise superb engraving detail throughout; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
